NAPLES BOTANICAL GARDEN - among a handful of tropical gardens in the United States, a place to experience everything from rainforests to succulent displays to water-laden pools to flowering trees whose bold colors enliven lush green backdrops.

MARCO ISLAND FARMER'S MARKET - open on Wednesdays only, November-April. One of the largest farmer's markets in Southwest Florida. You can find a wealth of treats like fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers, and meats; also unique delicacies like baked goods and handmade pasta and sauce.

THE ESPLANADE SHOPPES AT MARCO ISLAND - the coastal Italian-style village consisting of upscale retailers, small speciality stores, fine dining and luxury waterfront residences.

MARCO GOLF AND GARDEN - 18-hole mini golf course.

10 K ALLEY AT JW MARRIOTT - gastropub and state-of-the-art gaming arcade.

MARCO ISLAND CENTER FOR THE ARTS - features monthly exhibits, artist receptions and classes for families, adults and kids.


CAPTAIN HORR'S PINEAPPLE PLANTATION HISTORIC SITE - visit the remains of the home, 12-inch thick walls made out of shells and mortar, along with the wildlife that inhabits it.

MARCO ISLAND HISTORICAL MUSEUM - exhibits documenting regional history, from indigenous Native American life to modern development.

FRANK E. MACKLE PARK - a lovely walk around a pond (watch for gators!). Plenty of activities for kids - basketball, ping pong and one of the best playgrounds.

TIN CITY WATERFRONT SHOPS IN NAPLES - this charming historic area is a home to independent boutiques, restaurants and plenty of water-based activities for all ages.

NAPLES DOWNTOWN FIFTH AVENUE SOUTH and THIRD STREET SOUTH - notable areas for the best shopping and dining Naples has to offer.

WATERSIDE SHOPS - High-End shops a little north of Downtown Naples. Lots of well-known stores, and in the center of it all is an elegant water display that has many benches to relax on.

NAPLES ZOO AT CARIBBEAN GARDENS - in the historic tropical setting of exotic plants first planted in 1919, you can take delight at seeing many of your favorite animals like lions, giraffes, monkeys, pythons, and bears.
